bose are the wartburg of speakers. look it up - it's as bad as it sounds.

if you want good speakers, look at b&w, mordaunt short, wharfedale, epos, wilson audio (!!!), psb, kef, celestion etc etc etc

if i was after the top of the line, and i had deep pockets, and i could choose between just two brands, i'd look at wilson and b&w.

i have to agree with the comment about bose. the running joke in my shop is ''''''no highs, no lows, it must be bose''''''.

it sounds like you're wanting to use these speakers in a dj setup, as opposed to a critical listening room. two different applications that call out for two kinds of speakers.

for a public address/music playback application as you are implying, you might want to rethink your ''''''top of the line'''''' statement. one of the premier brands in this field are meyer sound labs. the m1d compact sub will set you back $2500. the mica mid-high cabinet will run you about $12,500 each, and you really should get four of them. four subs too. so, for ''''''top of the line'''''', you're at about $60,000, and you haven't even bought the power amps yet.

what would be better is to ask ''''''what's the best system i can get for (insert dollar amount here)?''''''

but, if you're playing house parties that would pay for a $60k system, let me know and i'll bid it out for you.

good luck.

greetings from austin, tx
ken
