hey. i was wondering what i should do about my playstation 3 slim 120gb. it all of a sudden happened while loading a my player game in nba 2k11. the game froze on the loading screen, but then i realized the entire system froze. so i had to pull power to turn it off. no disc would load after that. i tried the ps3 safe mode menu, i first tried the options like rebuilding database and what not, then restored the entire ps3. didn't work, so since i wasn't under warranty anymore i opened it up and cleaned the laser with some rubbing alcohol and a q-tip. surprisingly nba 2k11 started up. but when i turned on my ps3 this morning the same problem is happening again. no disc would be read, and the eject noise continues. should i buy a new blu-ray lens? or an entire new blu-ray drive for it?
@ top james, the blu ray drive will not load any blu-ray movies, games or anything. i even tried a regular mp3 cd. after restarting the ps3 is when i found out that happened, not after i opened it up and cleaned the drive. i wouldn't of opened it up unless it was a last resort ;]
