recently, sony released firmware version 2.6 which allows user to add themes that come with blu-ray discs. also the new firmware comes with visually appealing photo album and divix 3.11 support, which will play some of the older divix movies.

overall, a great firmware upgrade for blu-ray side of the playstation 3. this is the reason why ps3 is so versatile blu-ray player compared to standalone blu-ray players.

the ps3 is by far the best blu ray player that you can buy for your money with the updates that come out all the time. they can add things to your system to make it run better and run older movies better. this is something that most blu ray players that you buy are not able to do. the option of being able to hook up a ps3 to the internet makes this a great reason to buy a ps3 over your everyday standalone blu ray player. the option of being able to use the themes that come with your blu ray movie is a nice add on to the system as well.
