Default New reciever - 11-09-2009, 10:59 PM

Picked up a new reciever for my home theater, the harmon/kardon AVR 254. Wow I couldn't believe the difference in sound quality!!! I had a model from about 2-3 years ago can't remember the model number gave it to a friend all ready. Any way I hooked this new model up and I didn't realize that I had not set my ps3 to give me the lossless audio from my blu-ray's because just from the upgrade I thought I was hearing the lossless. I went about 4 days before I realized to my amazment that I was still listening to the lossy audio. So it was like I got a free upgrade when I now set my pse for the lossless audio YAY!

Very nice! Sometimes when you upgrade your equipment, you will benefit from other equipments ability to utilize the latest features and options.

Very true. I remember back in the day my first experience with upgrading. The moment I switched from rca cables to a toslink optical digital between my cd player and my receiver, I will never forget the sound comparatively to what it had been before. It's always fun to play around with things, sometimes through moving stuff around you take notice or combine different settings that you hadn't originally thought of.
