member reputation explained in detail

introduction:

the user reputation is displayed below the user's name.



the user reputation system allows the board members to leave comments about one anothers' posts, and thereby contribute to their overall 'reputation'. user reputation in its simplest form is a ranking of user's benefit to the forums. its basis comes from the opinions of all of the forum users that choose take part in it. users gain and lose reputation based on how their posts are scored by other forum participants. users with the ability to affect reputation, will either give or take aways points by approving or disapproving with a post's content.

how to participate in reputation system?

any registered users can participate in the reputation system at our forums. please use care and consideration before giving or taking away reputation from another user. an example that would garner a positive reputation would be a user writes a great post that benefits the general users of the forums.

the reputation icon is located slightly above the post to the far right. the icon is called ''''''karma''''''.



how user reputation is calculated and accumulated:

• register date factor: for every 7 days, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power (automatic).
• post count factor: for every 50 number of posts, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power (automatic).
• reputation point factor: for every 100 points of reputation, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power (automatic).
• user factor: 1 point of reputation will be gained when a registered user gives a reputation to other user.

reputation system rules:

• minimum post count: a user must have 10 posts before he or she is allowed to give reputation points to others.
• minimum reputation count: a user must have 10 reputation points before he is she is allowed to give reputation points to others.
• daily reputation clicks limit: a user can give up to 5 reputation points in a 24 hour time period.
• reputation user spread: a user must give reputation points to 5 other users before giving another reputation to same person.

reputation title:

if you hover your cursor over the green ''''''square'''''' you will see a user's reputation title. here is the break down of titles based on reputations:

• -99999 - user is infamous around these parts
• -50 - user can only hope to improve
• -10 - user has a little shameless behavior in the past
• 0 - user is an unknown quantity at this point
• 100 - 2 dk green blips
• 10 - user is on a distinguished road
• 50 - user will become famous soon enough
• 150 - user has a spectacular aura about
• 250 - user is a jewel in the rough
• 350 - user is just really nice
• 450 - user is a glorious beacon of light
• 550 - user is a name known to all
• 650 -user is a splendid one to behold
• 1000 - user has much to be proud of
• 2000 - user has a reputation beyond repute

the above title may change time to time to reflect changing circumstances with the forums. also, the way rep points are calculated, accumulated, and how to rules are imposed can change at our discretion.
