Default Sony PS3 vs Sony S370 - 10-04-2011, 11:04 AM

my wife wants to get me a bluray player. i am after some info before i tell her my choice, my son says to get the ps3 because he can connect online right to netflix and watch movies. and also he says he can play movies from a usb memory stick plugged into the ps3, i was reading about the sony s370 which looks like a fast loading blu ray player with good reviews, question is it says wifi ready, does this mean i need to purchase a device to connect to netflix to watch movies, will the sony s370 play movies like the ps3 thru the usb memory stick, and the last question is do i need to keep the computer on when we are watching a movie thru netflix.

thanks
chet

ps what would the next model sony blu ray player that has the wifi built in and any pros & cons of a player that has wifi built in vs a wifi ready player

a lot of blu ray players come equipped with netflix built in it. you can stream netflix directly from blu ray players. as far as wifi ready goes, you either have to purchase usb wireless adapter or if that is not the case then blu ray player comes with wifi adapter built in.

ps3 offers not only blu ray playing capability but also allows you to play games, stream movies like netflix, and etc. it offers more utility.

if you are strictly in it for blu ray movies and netflix, then go with sony or samsung blu ray players.
