no. keep in mind that the only source for 1080p is the blu ray disc movies and some ps3 video games. hope this will help you out.

i own a 1080i tv aswell as a blu-ray player. truthfully, the movies still look amazing. and when it upconverts regular dvds they look pretty damn good aswell. you wont be dissapointed.

no. 1080i is 60 half frames for 30 full frames per second. there is no material that is more frames than that out right now. hollywood movies are 24 frames per second.

plasma and lcd tv's have to undo the interlace before they can display the picture. the result for 1080i vs 1080p is the exact same picture on the screen.

you won't get full-hd 1080p but you won't be disappointed on the quality.
