Default What’s the difference between an HDMI cable and an HDMI A/V cable? - 09-16-2011, 12:15 AM

i found these two hdmi cables at best buy and i have no idea what the difference is between them other than the price. i even went to the manufacturer's website and still couldn't find a difference. the links to the best buy website and the manufacturer's website are listed below. i'm planning on using this cable on a blu-ray player.

the one that mentions ''''''a/v'''''' only does so to refer to the fact that it's usable with various audio-video devices that have an hdmi jack. rather obvious.

if you want to save a few bucks, buy your cable elsewhere; you can beat that $12.99 price lots of places. amazon has them for under $5.00. for your application, the cheapest hdmi cable you can find will be fine. locally, check the electrical department of a big hardware store. i've found them in thrift stores, most recently at big lots for about $9.
