absolutely! you can have a number of different issues with a cheap blu ray player; the most noticeable would probably be in the load time of blu ray discs and start up time of the player. i know this sounds pretty inconsequential, but in some players it can 30 seconds + to power on and load a disc. i know that doesn't sound like a lot, but it will get very annoying over time. also, you may see issues with reliability in the laser, the loading tray, the built in wifi (if it even has this feature, and trust me, you don't want a blu ray player without it), and just the general functionality of the player. if you are on a budget, you can find some very good blu ray players for $100 - $150 depending on what brand you are looking at and whether or not you wait for a sale.
