i've always noticed that the playback speed seems faster, and it's always pissed me off. the movies look like they're playing at 1.2x or something..

they shouldn't.

if the movie lasts 90 min, it should finish in 90 min. if not, there is something wrong with the player.
bd movies have higher resolution, but the frame rate is the same.

it is possible your tv has some sort of motion control like my samsung has a 120hz motion control and i can set it for smooth or clear or fast or some other kind of enhancement. see if yours does and turn it off and see it it looks different. hope that helps

well，occasionly i had the same problem with you. i also found the blu-ray player sometimes make movie faster.
