no! blu ray player plays blue ray disk that has over 50gb storage. it cannot run vhs tape and it cannot convert vhs data into dvd data and burn it into dvd.

want a vhs tape you have burned to blue ray disk? get a dvd recorder, hook a vhs machine up to the dvd recorder, run the video out to a monitor or tv, transfer your footage, finalize the dvd when done recording. take dvd to computer, using a file convertor program, transfer the vts_01_1 and so on files to your hard drive, while transferring, convert to something your editing program can understand and use. use a good nle that works with hd footage, to edit and then burn a blu ray disk, if you have a blu ray burner in your computer.

i use pinnacle studio 14 hd ultimate and it can burn a blue ray disk, no problem.
