i bought a 4-port ethernet hub so that i could run the computer and the blu ray to my cable modem. the computer worked fine and i could connect to the internet. however, the blu ray keeps saying ''''''ip address invalid'''''' and i've went through customer service with the cable company and asked for the correct ip address. i'm still waiting for customer service from the manufacturer to answer me. it's a samsung, if that matters. it's not wifi capable.

take the ethernet hub back and get a 4 port wired router, connect your cable modem to the wan port on the router, the computer and the blu-ray player to any of the ports marked 1 through 4.

you may have to call the cable company and have them reset the cable modem once it's connected to the router if it doesn't work.
