or just go with the led. would i need a 3d blu-ray player if i do? would an led give me a really nice picture with a blu-ray. 99.9% of my tv viewing is from cable though. i have 3 computers. do i really need one on my tv too? but i just don't want to miss a good opportunity for $150 more to get the 3d option if that seems like a smart thing to do now before 3d options become more prevalent. thanks!

just get the led. 3d thing is pretty new and not very reliable.

3d is mostly a gimmick. tho the top line tvs have it built in whether or not you want it. most people see flicker watching 3d, others see faint lines watching 2d on 3d tvs. it's really too new and it's not perfected. i'd buy a plane lcd or led and skip the 3d to avoid the above mentioned issues.

best solution is go see a few tvs you like, see which looks easiest on your eyes (keeping in mind stores blast the setting way higher than you will at home to get attention) and see what you prefer.

i definitely think that you should invest in a 3d player if you want looking for a way to improve your family entertainment.

i would not buy a 3d tv..there is very limited viewing except for expensive blu ray dvd's, and the active 3d glasses are expensive, and require power to run them.. (passive glasses do not require power). all can cause eye strain or headaches after extensive viewing.. it is a fairly new 'toy'.. i would wait for the newer glasses free 3d tv's that will be available soon..
