your manual should have a web address to check for firmware updates but a longer process lol of downloading and burning to disc then to blu ray, you can simply connect the internet cable to the ethernet cable plug in on the back of your blu ray and it should automatically update the firmware, if you can leave it connected always and it should check for and update every time you turn it on, on my blu ray i can go online and check weather, watch youtube and few other sites. but check the settings tho to see if set for automatic check for updates if has the option.
