Should I sell my Xbox 360 and get a PS3? -

i have an xbox 360, which i have had for about 3 years and am getting little use out of now. i'm paying £40 a year for an xbox live subscription which i only really use for call of duty. and i don't even play that alot!
so i just feel as though i am wasting money and so i am considering getting a ps3 because it appears to be better value in the long run. it has free online play, some excellent exclusives and a blu-ray player. it's also quieter than the xbox which makes a difference if playing at night of when watching a film.
but then there's the cons of a ps3. a lot of xbox games get dlc first or even exclusive content, usually due to microsoft getting their cheque books out. games such as the call of duty series and i have just learned that the upcoming game skyrim will have its dlc released first on xbox live. also, i hear the playstation network is not as good as xbox live even though it's free.

i'm in the same boat as you and i'm seriously considering getting a ps3 too. i would sell your xbox 360 only if you plan to play ps3 exclusives, and use some of the features like blu-ray or free online, or else you'd just be wasting your time.
as for the dlc thing, don't worry. in fact i hate microsoft because of its dlc deals. us xboxlivers are required to pay $60(cad)/ year and then that money gets pushed out towards stupid deals that don;t really matter. all those ''''''deals'''''' microsoft make are only saying that: hey our users get to blow their money first! the skyrim dlc is released on xbl 30 days before anywhere else. if you think about it, that is so stupid. skyrim is going to take 200-300 hours to complete w/o dlc! why would we really care if we got dlc a month earlier than psn or pc users? microsoft should be pushing for better features or if not, reduction in price to compete with the competion, not stupid dlc deals
psn is not awful but it seems to have a lot more negative reviews but it is free. if you don't game that much online, i'd get a ps3 rather than blow money on xbl that people only really use for halo games, gears of war and call of duty.

yes, i would switch over to the ps3 if i were you.. microsoft will be announcing their next console at e3 next year, but sony has until at least 2014-2015 before they'll have to release a new console. the only good exclusives the 360 had left are halo, forza, gears, and fable. but on the flip side the ps3 has over 20 exclusives being released in 2011 alone, over half of which are strong or highly anticipated titles.
the only thing xbox live really has over the playstation network is cross-game chat and in-game music, but people act like psn is a piece of junk. the people who complain about the psn are ironically people who have probably never used it, because it works identically to xbox live in every other way. one thing the psn has over xbl is that game servers aren't hacked anymore like they are on the 360, and that it's free of course (i'll take free over a couple extra features any day).
