i have an xbox 360, which i have had for about 3 years and am getting little use out of now. i'm paying £40 a year for an xbox live subscription which i only really use for call of duty. and i don't even play that alot!

so i just feel as though i am wasting money and so i am considering getting a ps3 because it appears to be better value in the long run. it has free online play, some excellent exclusives and a blu-ray player. it's also quieter than the xbox which makes a difference if playing at night of when watching a film.

but then there's the cons of a ps3. a lot of xbox games get dlc first or even exclusive content, usually due to microsoft getting their cheque books out. games such as the call of duty series and i have just learned that the upcoming game skyrim will have its dlc released first on xbox live. also, i hear the playstation network is not as good as xbox live even though it's free.

so, any advice guys?

i am not a hardcore gamer but for me i think i should get the ps3. but hubby want's the xbox 360 maybe because of the hardcore games they can play with it. you must decide according to your gaming requirement.

i've had both, i played my ps3 more than my 360. i just enjoyed the games on ps3 than 360. but that's just me.. playstation network is pretty much free, didn't have any problems with it. i overall used all the cool perks the ps3 has over 360. the only thing i didn't like was all my friends were playing call of duty on 360 while i was always on my ps3. not cool! i refuse to buy the same game for different systems!

put it like this: 360 is great for online gaming with friends, but ps3 is everything else.

i have playstation 3, and its not much different as the xbox 360. my cousin has a xbox and i prefer having a ps3, because it has better audio quality and picture (hdmi) and like you said, blu-ray. it has a built in wi-fi inside. and built in battery in the controllers. i dont have an xbox so dont say im a ps3 fanboy,cause im not criticizing it. but in my perspective, its an easy choice.

get the ps3, you will really benefit not just for blu-ray, but for awsome power and great games. also, online is free. trust me bro, the ps3 is better. get it and happy gaming.
