now that the prices are coming down on the blu ray players, i thought it would be interesting to see how much all of us spent on our blu ray players when we bought them. i spent $499 on mine, but i had to get a ps3 for my kids. we do not have a stand alone player yet, but i see one soon in the future if the prices keep going down.
i paid $399 for the sony bdp-s550 and then found the following ad on google for $199 but to get the deal you have to get a sony credit card. i would have done it!. the following is the ad with the link if anybody is interested.
$199 sony blu-ray player
get the bdps550 blu-ray disc player
for $199 with a new sony card.
as far as sony credit card, i am wondering how stringent is the approval process now that the credit market is very tight.
it is an amazing deal!

i spent $499 for my ps3. i think that sony's credit might be pretty tight, most companies are right now with the economy. did you know that there are blu ray players coming out for like $4000? that's crazy.
i have a sony and i just spent a little under $600 for my player. it was worth it though, and it will last a long time. i would rather think of it as an investment, and something that will last me a long time.
