i am not sure if there is a difference between these two or not. does any one out there know if there is really a difference between 1080i and 1080p. if there is a difference what is it?
there is no difference between the 1080i and 1080p. the i and the p make no difference in your tv if it is a newer set. the 1080 is the resolution that will show up for you and it is crystal clear.
1080 is the best resolution that you can get. how old is your television? if you are in the market for a new tv, make sure you get one that has 1080 capabilities if you are planning to upgrade to anything blu ray in the future. you will notice the clarity difference like night and day.
yes 1080 is the best that you can have for now. why they keep saying do you have a 1080p or 1080i is dumb when there really is no difference in it. the difference is in your tv. if you get 1080 then you get 1080 no need for the i or the p.
if processed correctly, there is no difference between 1080i and 1080p. however, some television sets process the 1080i differently. some sets just double the resolution, bobbing, instead of weaving the separate lines to form full 1080 resolution. with bobbing you only get 1/2 the resolution. this website has list of television sets which bob or weave.
thanks for the good information. i don't think you would notice much of a difference in clarity though. i will have to check out the link. thanks bopo.
