Angry Kung Fu Panda Review - 01-22-2009, 10:16 PM

i loved this movie. i saw it in theaters and knew immediately that i was going to be buying the blu-ray version.

however. this review isn't about the movie, which is great. this review is about the blu-ray version.

the dvd version comes in a double pack, including the 'secrets of the furious five' ''''''sequel'''''' to the original movie. that's a huge draw of buying this movie.

however, the blu-ray version not only does not have the double-pack offer, it also does not have the movie bundled onto the single blu-ray disc at all, which means if you buy this version you miss out on the new movie.

why on earth would anyone buy the blu-ray version if they're missing out on the 'secrets of the furious five' sequel? it seems foolish.

bad studio decision.

what do you think about this?

i agree, i only want to buy one copy, and i would prefer to purchase a blu ray over a standard dvd. there are not a lot of children's movies available on blu ray, and i prefer them. have you seen that sequel movie? i am wondering if it is any good. i am sure my kids would love it, but i am not sure i would enjoy it.

i would agree with you on that there is not many kids movies out yet for blu ray. this movie was one of the better movies out there for kids this past year. i have not seen the sequel movie as well but would like to know if it is any good or if i should just stick with the blu ray version like i would like to get.

i don't know how these different company's can keep coming out with all of these great family movies. i loved cartoons as a kid but these movies for the most part are great and this one was no different in kung fu panda. if there is one family movie out there to buy this would be that movie. there was the draw back of not getting the extra movie on the blu ray side.

i am assuming the second one is not that great, that is why it is only offered on the dvd bundle pack. if it does turn into a hit, it will be released eventually as a blu ray movie. while yes it is a bummer, it is probably not worth it anyways. kung fu panda is a hit in itself, so the kids are going to watch this one versus another.

kung fu panda is an ok movie. i was not that impressed with it but my kids loved it. if you are looking for a good movie for the kids then this is the right one for you. if you are looking more for a family film then kung fu pnada is not the best one. i would go with something more like wall-e for a family movie.
