| Will Blu-ray on the PS3 work through composite cables? -

i replaced the lens on my ps3 40gb model, and i can now watch regular dvd's and cd's. but blu-ray discs won't even show up in the video menu. i was wondering if my ps3 was doing this because i'm currently running it through composite cables (yellow, red, white). or did i buy a bad laser replacement? the laser loads all other dvd and cd's without any problems at all, the thing sounds brand new and can hardly even hear it spin with i'm loading a disc to play a regular movie, or music disc.
because of this problem, i can't play my gta iv (which is blu-ray) or watch my blu-ray movie of ''''''2012'''''' :-(
i plan on getting a new hd tv in a week or so, with an hdmi cable. i'm just wondering if i can play my blu-rays now with composite cables until i get my tv.
