no, normal tv stations wont be shown in 3d on the display, you need a 3d source. there are a few 3d stations, and some shows/events are filmed and broadcast in 3d (the 2010 fifa world cup for example)

yes, the playstation 3 does support 3d blu-ray movies.

no. 3d will have to be built into the tv program just like it has to be built into the game. for example, my friend has a samsung 3d tv and subscribes to directv as well. espn has a separate channel for hd, non-hd, and 3dtv in the directv package. no, directv doesn't offer 3d for all its channels. however, 3d is still a relatively new concept to the consumer, so 3d programming for tv programs may increase in the future, depending on how much demand it generates i guess.

if the blu-ray movie supports 3d, there will be an option to view it in 3d.

both answers above are correct & as a samsung 3d tv owner i can tell you its the only brand that offers 2d to 3d conversion on any visible content.
i.e. i can watch or play anything in 3d, but although the 'pop out' isnt very noticeable the depth is great.

with the pop out/depth its similar when comparing a stand alone 3d blu ray player & the ps3. pop out is much better on the stand alone player but i use the ps3 anyway so i can use my turtle beach headset.
