i know wii doesn't support dvd playing or blue ray but since i soft modded it i just put the movies on the usb and watch them on the wii through that. for some reason though when i put in a blu ray movie on the usb it plays the sound but doesnt show a picture. the picture shows only when i pause it.
so what i am saying is that the movie is playing but the picture only shows when i pause it.

any ideas? can i convert it into something else if it is the blu ray? and if i do have to convert it, will i loose the 3d? its about avatar.

what format are you trying to play? remember that the wii has a slow underpowered cpu and will not be able to render images of high quality video. i suggest you make a rip of the bluray to avi or h.234 format

the wii can play movies for sure.

but not hd, because it's not hd.
