How do I hook up my 46'''''' samsung lcd, my sony blu ray player, and my sony theatre system?

hi, i just recently bought a 46 inch samsung lcd tv to go with my 2008 bought sony 5.1 home theatre system. my brother gave me his new blu ray player, but how can i hook it up to my home theatre so it still plays blu ray movies, and not loose the 5.1 surround sound. i keep getting 2 chanell when installing it together

first confirm for a hdmi input in your tv. if it is available, you can connect the blu ray's hdmi output with the hdmi input of the tv directly. if an option is available in your tv for a 5.1 audio out, you can connect it to the 5.1 input of your audio system. other wise you can connect the 5.1 audio out of your blu ray player to your audio system directly.

go through the manual of the blu ray player. it gives you various options for selection of 'in and out' of the audio and video. choose the one that suits you. still if you are confused, better contact a dealer, he will guide you.

well, if your 5.1 system has hdmi out, then plug your bluray player into the 5.1 system, then from the sound system to the tv. if you dont have hdmi out. check and see if your tv has hdmi out. if your tv doesnt have a hdmi out, then check for a fiber optic ports. plug your sound onto the bluray player with fiber optic and use hdmi to your tv.

if any of these work and you still getting stereo sound, check the settings on your 5.1 system. there are usually buttons or menus to select mono channel, stereo or 5.1 surround.
