Lightbulb Saw V Movie Review - 01-22-2009, 09:35 PM

i will applaud the series for being a little more fresh after 5 installments then say halloween/nightmare on elm street or friday the 13th. that said, this series is really growing stale. with the death of jigsaw it now falls to hoffman to continue his work. but to utilize the popular tobin bell, the movie is full of flashbacks explaining how the two met, how jigsaw trained him, and explaining a lot of what happened in the other movies. besides the flashbacks, you have the co-stories of 5 people trapped in a jigsaw house and hoffman being pursued by a federal agent who suspects him in the jigsaw murders. the movie seems very much like a set up for part 6, as it leaves several questions about jigsaws wife. i like the series, but i think they need to have a final episode and wrap everything up at this point.

what did you think of the latest in that saw movie?

i haven't seen it, but the previews looked kind of creepy. you always wonder when a movie has made so many sequels if they are going to be as good as the first couple. there have been very few multiple series movies that have all been good. take a look at friday the 13th, for example like you used, after the first couple of editions they stunk. did you hear by the way they are coming out with another in february? i haven't heard much about this one, but not looking forward to it.

i was a big fan of the first saw and the second one was good. the saw movies have been good but they are the same thing over and over again. saw 4 had the person know as jigsaw get killed off and they still think that they can make a good movie with out him. saw 5 is not a bad movie but it does have a lot of flashbacks to the old ones.

the saw movies are so creepy and bloody, but i love them. i personally think that they keep getting better and better as they go along. this will sound good with my new surround system. i will make sure that the kids are in bed before i turn this one on, don't want anyone to have nightmares!

excellent review!

i am so sick of these movies... the first one was good and then you can get away with a second one but come on 5 of them. i am sure that they will make a saw 6 but when will it end. my guess is never they will keep making these if people are willing to shell out the money to see the same thing over and over again. so sick of the saw movies.

they are really milking this series. first one was the best and of course with every other sequels, they become unoriginal.

i am a fan of the saw movies but i will agree that they are starting to try to push for more money on something that has been over done. how many ways can you play the game and watch some people die. that and when you kill off the main person behind the killings in jigsaw. what is up with that, dumb move on there part.

saw 5 is just another one of those movies that can not seem to ever end. i did like the first one and the second one was not to bad. then to keep selling stuff that is the same thing over and over is getting old. i would have to agree with geek on this one.
