Question How Long do You Think Before DVD's Fade Away - 01-24-2009, 09:46 PM

i am going to say with the price of the blu ray players dropping fast that the dvd's are only going to have about 2 years before they start to fade away like vhs did. what do you guy think? how long do you give dvd's?

i think that even with the price of blu ray coming down there are still just too many people that only have dvd players. then even with blu ray you can still play dvd's on them as well. i do not see dvd's going away anytime soon. there will be more and more blu ray but it will be many years before they will start to take over the dvd market.

i am with you terry i think they will start to change over but will more then likely not start to get phased out for at least 5 to 6 years down the road. there are still way to many dvd players out there and they are still a lot cheaper then the blu ray ones.

i am with most of you i think that they will be going down as well but i will give them 10 years before they are all gone. there is just to many of them out there to get phased out that fast. the vhs took well into 30 years to get out of town.
