i been looking into backing up my blu ray movies for some time now. i have been looking to buy a blu ray burner but the price for these is still vary high. the price range is like 500 bucks. i have found that it is not really the best way to backup your blu ray movies yet as the disks are still on the high end for price. the best beat is to copy them to a external hard drive that you can buy for much cheaper price and then play them to your tv from your laptop computer by an hdmi cable.
does anyone else have any better ways of doing this or cheaper?
i cannot think of anyway. if it is something that you do not need to do now, i would wait. if you were storing photos, you could buy one or two disks and that would do the trick. they hold quite a bit. the technology is so new, i would hold off a little bit.
it really depends on how badly you want to burn them. if it is not super important, i would recommend holding off. the price will go down, and the technology will only get better and faster. that's what happened with dvd-r/rw drives. yes, they do hold a lot more than traditional dvd disks, but in my opinion it is not necessary.
like ed said they will start to come down soon. i would just wait it out a little bit longer or like you said just burn some of them onto your hard drive. that sounds like a good way to keep one copy safe. the price of blu ray disks will come down to more like the range of the dvd disks.
