Default Is there a big difference between Blu-Ray and 3D Blu-Ray? - 06-19-2011, 06:00 PM

i'm not planning on getting a 3d tv anytime soon, but this new ''''''3d blu-ray'''''' format concerns me. is there any real difference? i don't see why there needs to be a special disc, when all that's really needed to really get a 3d hd picture is an hdmi compatible player. i've already started collecting blu-ray discs, and it's way too soon for this format to become obsolete!

there is no such difference in blu ray and 3d blu ray. actually if you are planning to view the video in 3d than your player and disk both need to be blue ray only

with 3d bly ray you have to wear glasses have a 3d tv and 3d blu ray all being more expensive weather its really necessary or not is up for debate the only movie i have seen in both formats was avatar and to tell you the truth i didn't see the need, yes the picture pops out more and there are some nice special effects that can get you into the movie at certain times more but all in all does it really ad that much more to the movie???...before 3d becomes popular they will have to bring down the price, you will have to see it without glasses and there will have to be more content that takes advantage of the format besides cartoons....if they cannot do that it will only exist as a novelty item...usually 3d tv's and blu ray players will also do a better job on 2d blu ray also due to the higher level of technology needed...
