processor: intel core i7 960

ram: 8gb ddr3 1600mhz

ssd: 120gb vertex 3 max iops edition solid state drive

gpu: 3 gtx 580 in sli

blu-ray drive (10x speed)

is this setup powerful enough to run all the games maxed out? and will be able to do so for the next 3 to 4 years before becoming obsolete? how long till this rig becomes obsolete? and also, is a 1200watt psu enough to power this system?

thanks...

while i would say yes, it's also a colossal waste of money. you're better off just getting one 580 gtx and a less expensive (but better performing) sandy bridge setup, such as the i5 2500k

then take the extra $1200 you saved from the 1366 platform and the 2x 580 gtx and build a new rig in 2-3 years, which will easily be better than the one you're thinking about doing now
