so after maybe 3 hours of web searching, i found out how to open the ps3 and blu ray drive, and i'm going to attempt to fix a dusty blu ray lens. can i just use a cotton swab and delicately wipe off the dust, or do i require the liquid? alcohol or nail polish remover does not work, after seeing angry comments of forums saying it made the problem worst. help anybody?

okay first, does your ps3 read discs at all? if so, just buy a lens cleaning disc like the following: http://www.amazon.com/maxell-br-lc-blu-ray-lens-cleaner/dp/b00178hn0o/ref=sr_1_1?ie=utf8&qid=1301856645&sr=8-1 . just make sure the one you buy is for bluray lenses, the best kind use wind funneling to blow dust off the lens.. some say the kind with brushes could break the lens totally or scratch it. if it doesn't read any discs at all you could do ome disassembly and attempt to blow the dust off with a can of compressed air.
