in a long time.
what with all those 3d and 1080p hd tvs, these things are hot.

especially with things like the ps3 that have real nice hd.
i say in about 1+1/2 years to 2+1/2 years.
depends on our technology.

in a long time. people still use dvd. it will not go away for a long time since its so ahead of technology. blu-ray can be 3d and its full 1080p hd. once something better than 1080p comes out blue ray will be outdated but for the next 5 or so years it will be top of the line.

blu ray disc movies will be around for a long time. look at vhs tape, they are still around and they stated in the 70's. beside that there is nothing out there yet that can replace it. tv stations just converted to hd (720p) last year and they are not going to spend more money in the near future for 1080p. hope this will help you out.
