i have a couple of older computers that i am going to transfer files from to my new computer and back them up on blu ray. i don't have a ton of files, but i have enough. most of them have music and video files. what kind of media, size and brand of media do you think i should use?

i would recommend tdk blu ray disks. i haven't personally used their blu ray recordable disks, but i have burned regular dvds with their brand and i like them. the price is nice too. as for size it is really hard to say, it all depends on how many things you have to back up.

i would purchase the 25gb disks, and sort thrrough your stuff. put all of your music on one, video on another, etc. this way you have everything of that type on one disk making it more organized. hope this helps!

like the others said, it all depends really on how much you need to store. personally, i am waiting to upgrade my computer so that i can get a burner drive built in, but that will be a little ways down the road.

i bought some packs of sony bd-r for $3.50 a disc and bd-r dl for $10.50 a piece. these two are top blank media for blu ray so far, not one toasted!
