Lightbulb What color are blu ray disks? - 01-24-2009, 02:13 PM

i am wondering if the blu ray disks that you buy to burn onto have a blue bottom or if they have different colors for them. i know that most of the ones that i have seen have been blue but i just got resident evil and the bottom of the disk was white. does anyone know this answer? i was not sure if other companys made blu ray disks with different bottoms or if it was just because they are blu ray disks so why not make it blue.

that is kinda funny but i never really took a look at them but you are right they are blu. maybe this is were the name for blu ray came from. i am not sure if this is something that every blu ray disk would have to have. anyone else out there know for sure.

the disks can be whatever color the manufacture wants them to be. most do use the blue color for the name blu ray. the color of the disk has nothing to do with how it plays on your blu ray player.

this is kind of a funny post but there is nothing to due with what color the blu ray disks are. some of the stuff said here is right but there is nothing to do with the color of the blu ray disk. some of this stuff maybe a firmware issue with some of the systems.

geek is right, most of them are a blue bottom, but they really could be anything. it may have had something to do with when they created some of the first disks, though i am not 100% sure.
