Default Silly Question - 07-13-2010, 05:04 PM

hello.

this may seem like an incredibly stupid question, but i have to ask it since last time i blew my brand new pc attempting to play a ripped blu ray movie.

so, basically, what i need answered is this. i want to play a 720p or 1024p x264 bluray movie ripped to hdd. i installed cyberlink powerdvd pro and it screwed up my pc, as in it changed my administrator and locked me out, so i promised myself i will never use it again.

i use kmplayer free to play my usual dvd rips on the pc, but kmplayer does not play my sound with blu-ray rips. i have windows 7 x64 installed, an ati radeon hd 4650 1gb video card, a dual core 2.8 ghz intel processor and 4 gigs of ram, plus a fujitsu siemens 17'''''' flat screen monitor working at 1280x1024 75hz. the monitor is new, the problems before were on an old, non-compilant monitor at 1024x768.

can anybody tell me if i need to install any codecs in order to play a rip like that (720p, 1024p) on my pc, and what free blu-ray player should i use to get it playing without problems to my pc.

thank you.
